IF: Fuel

Out of Gas - Space Illustration by paul zdepski
Out of Gas

... another spacey illustration. I didn't make it to last week's word, "Scattered" - so I combined it with this week's word, Fuel to create an organic space machine, stuck and out of gas on some distant rock. The piece is a pencil drawing merged with a NASA photo and plenty of Photoshop CS5 to color, dodge and highlight with my Wacom Intuos3 tablet.

click to enlarge the frustration and galactic swearing.

"Fuel" - very cool. Again, love your choice of colors. I feel the weight of the "spacecraft" ... both it's physical weight and the also the burden it has placed on its diminutive Commander. I'd love some info on how to purchase pieces of your work!

Nice! I really like the use of light and the glowing outline of the seemingly pissed-off human. Nice style.

Thanks Honeydew! My digital work is printed on Lasal Moab cotton paper. It's great stuff. I haven't sold much through the web, but should think about making an Etsy store or something. I generally use the blog and website just to talk about the process and share ideas. If you're interested in some work, email me and I'll make it happen. Thanks again. It's very encouraging to hear someone likes your work.
