Love this painting. I, too, used to use my toes to climb ropes! I'm 42 and still use them to climb trees - I daresay I may be the only Mom in the neighborhood who can climb at all. My kids love it now, but I fear some day soon it will become a terrible embarrassment for them.
This painting is really, really beautiful. I love everything about it - the textures are gorgeous, the self portrait is very real, and the writing just rocks it.
