Washington Post Review - Yeah!

The Post was kind enough to run a full page story in the Weekend Section today, May 30, 2008, about the Illustrators Club of DC, MD and VA's 14th Annual Show.

It sounds like they liked it!

The Story Behind the Work (featuring my painting and quotes)

the Parent Story:
Who Needs Words? The Pictures Say It All.

I'm totally floored that they gave Vinny a spot of his own. He's even got his own call-out box in the printed version.

The addition of Illustration into the gallery world has been something of a tightrope act, but this seems to add credibility to what I've been trying to do.

HURRAY for the Post!

Hibernian Night

at the Somerville, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall. This is two separate sketchbook pages merged in photoshop. My sister-in-law, Linda had just won a highland drum competition in maryland (that's her on the left). we celebrated by rolling out to an evening jam session at the KofC... a couple of pints of guiness and the songs started rolling. i didn't get a chance to sketch the piper... he was really good.

other info - my piece Vincent Van Toad is hanging over at the Pepco Edison Place gallery at 702 8th Street, across from the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC - around the corner from the Chinatown Arch. Opening is tonight from 6 - 8:30.

also, my painting named "Officer Rabbit's New Bike" made it into the Richmond Illustrator's Club juried show. Really looking forward to meeting those folks. Lots of good things coming out of the capitol region.
